Actually, having spent many hours in NZ, Canada, USA & Fiji looking
for them, landsnails are difficult to find (apart from a few
locally-common species) and because they are so conservative in
shell-form they are often extremely difficult to identify even to
family level.
That's not to say that they are unrewarding!
