Dear Conch-Lers -

Well, my vow of silence didn't last very long, did it?

First, even though words are so inadequate, I wanted to send a message to
Emilio in Venezuela and express my sympathy and I did last night.

Second, I want to thank all of you many nice people that wrote to me. You
are
probably all too young to have heard it but there is an old expression that
people used to use to convey their appreciation of something nice that was
said to them. "That warms the cockles of my heart." I haven't the vaguest
idea what cockles in the heart refers to or how the phrase came into
existence, but that should make this email shell-related.

And if I ever send any more unkind remarks on Conch-L I will
commit..........darn, can't find the word in my dictionary but it sounds
like
"harry carry."

happy holidays to all you wonderful people.
