Museum of malacology is a non-profit organization
We have published the new following books

- ATLANTE DELLE CONCHIGLIE DI PROFONDITA' DEL MEDITERRANEO (Ardovini &
Cossignani, 1999)
In this publication is illustrated the most part of the molluscan fauna
living in West Mediterranean Sea, Sicilian Channel and Adriatic Sea with
particular reference to the species distributed offshore and in bathyal
habitat.
112 pagg. - 300 colour photos - harbound 4. - The weight is about 0,950 kg.
Italian
Italian with enclosed translation in English

- CHITONS OF THE WORLD (Slieker, 2000)
An illustrated Synopsis of Recent Polyplacophora.
...Altogether over 500 species (including 61 types), about 60% of the 850
extant species currently known to science, are illustrated and briefly
described in this book.
Those species lacking in this book are mostly chitons living in the deepsea
which are often only known from the type material and to be found
exclusively in the collections of the larger institutes. Their descriptions
and illustrations can be found in specific scientific publications.
160 pagg. - over 500 species figured in col., hardbound 4. - The weight is
about 1,400 kg

- NEW TEREBRAS AND ANCIENT VERSES / NUOVE TEREBRE E ANTICHI VERSI (Aubry, 1999)
The author wishes to present a first series of Terebras, the result of
several years' study. Not having found valid mention of them in any
literature, they are here proposed and catalogued as hitherto unknown (n.
sp.) to science.
Height specimens belong to the " Museum National Histoire Naturelle" in
Paris and come from several packets sent by Professor P. Bouchet for
examination. They were collected by means of deep dredging, in various
French Oceanographical Expeditions (Musorstom, Bathus, Karubar, Smib). It
is clear that the credit for their definitive recognition as valid species
should be equally divided between the finder and the autor.
Five species come from various localities of the West Australian coast.
They have in common their extremely small size, not exceeding a maximum
length of 8 mm Most were collected with other material by dredging and some
by underwater experts. All, however, come from depths of up to 30-40
metres, in mixed sand and debris. The area of their discovery and their
habitat, although not defined by precise marine co-ordinates and referral,
must be considered as reliable, given the undoubted seriousness of the
people who have donated the specimens.
The other species were donated by friends and colleagues in the field. They
come from various malacological provinces and show particular conchological
features that differentiate them from all other species so far described.
50 pagg. - 20 species figured in col., hardbound 4., The weight is about
0,600 kg.
