Dear all,

With all the recent cybertalk of field trips to distant and even exotic
destinations, a little vignette about home-based conchology might lend timely
counterpoise.  A fellow Jacksonville Shell Club member, Charlotte Lloyd, has
written up her voyage into the microcosm of "grunge" (shell-grit to some)
derived from a mundane and overlooked resource - marine tangles.  Minimal
effort in the (local) field and some hard work at the microscope produced an
impressive measure of molluscan diversity.  See her report at our website:
