Shell book users:

For the new year, what would you ask for in new shell books? Subject,
content, etc.

For myself, what is desirable is books on a genus or family done
thoroughly. There are sufficient general world-wide books now.
The books should contain photos adequate for identification of your
shells. This means adequate size and views. Making illustration sizes
proportional to actual size makes ID of small shells next to impossible.
Accurate written descriptions are very valuable, but the descriptions
should at least be applicable to the illustration. How many times have
you seen the description say the shell is cylindrical when the
illustration shows a very ovate to round shell.
