The Sea Shell Searchers Shell Show 2001 was held October 20-21at the Lake
Jackson Civic Center.  There were 30 exhibitors with 80 exhibits entered in
the show this year.  There were 373 feet of scientific exhibits and 46 feet
of "artistic" exhibits.  The scientific judges were Emilio Garcia and Chris
Takahashi.  The artistic judge was Barbara Feiner (a local artist) and the
beany judge was Sandra Oliver.

The results are listed below:

DuPont Trophy - Rose Marie Neuffer - "Trivia Pursuit" (20 feet)

COA Award - Gene Everson - "Strombidae Worldwide" (34 feet)

Mildred Tate Gulf of Mexico Award (sponsored by the Brazosport Museum of
Natural Science honoring the outstanding shell or exhibit of shells
collected from the Gulf of Mexico or along the shores of the Gulf of
Mexico) - Janey Nill - "Seashells of Texas" (20 feet)
