Dear all,

Thanks for responses to my Patellidae questions. I have most of the
non-European Patellidae fairly much under control (better not let them
escape again). The European ones seem to suffer from over-naming. Most
publications more or less agree with Gert Lindner (thanks Gert) about the
species, but there is a very recent (1998) article by Freek Titselaar in
Vita Marina, which mentions the from the Azores the species P. tenuis (with
subspecies) in the P. candei complex. No other publication mentions P.
tenuis.

What is our collective jury's opinion about this?

Patty
