I think Sicily is a very interesting shelling place.
I have travelled in north-eastern Sicily in 1999 and I found interesting
shelling sites.
I skin dived in Oliveri (25 km west of Milazzo) in few meters of water and
brought home dead but good specimens of Thracia corbuloides, some live
Fusinus syracusanus, many other bivalves.  In that place you may also find
Mactra glauca, which is a rare species in italian waters, even if not so
rare in the western Mediterranean and in Atlantic ocean.
Punta Faro is another interesting spot in the Strait of Messina, but beware
of strong tide currents there.
If you scuba dive you can certainly find good spots rich in shells almost
everywhere.
Do not miss a visit to fishing boats and fishermen's harbours wherever you
are.
Not shell related, but do not miss a climb to Mount Etna as higher as
safely possible.
