..my personal experience....
in Jan 2000 I was in mautirius island and I filled my trolley only for
shells (At my
arrive there was a typhoon, thus I find many shells on the beach) taken on the
shore and dived also during snorkel...and not happy I put also some plastic
boxes
on the my luggage and of the one of my friend...a lady put also in her trolley
a big pieces of coral (aarrrgh!!!!), but nothing happen on the airport
during the
x-ray check... the shell ovviesly bus clearly visible on the monitor....
Speaking with local people they told me that there was a banning of shells but
nobody has told me exactly about these laws..so I have tried personally to
check
the validity of them....
ciao from italy.
