Dear Conch--lers,
in a shell shop in my city I bought a Coralliophila labeled "Coralliophila
squamosa - Tirreno [= Thyrrenian Sea]".
I have serious doubts about its identification and locality data, but I was
not able to find a name for this species.
You can find some scans at
http://members.xoom.virgilio.it/pgalbano/coralliophila/coralliophila.htm
and if you have difficulties opening the page I will be happy to send you
scans like attachments.
To me it seems to look like a Nucella more than a Coralliophila. The
sculpture is striking.
You can contact me at [log in to unmask]
Does any of you have any idea about what species it is and where it lives?
THANK YOU!!
Paolo
