Hi, Conch-L, Sue, and Jordan ( and also I think, Paul Monfils)!

On the subject of the paper nautilus comming from the bottom of the ocean - I once saw a Jacques Cousteau video
exploring the black coral forest somewhere.   But the amazing fact was that the SCUBA divers were swimming above a bottom not only with the black coral, but literally hundreds of
empty (of course) paper nautilus shells, none of which they
were picking up.   So Sue, I do think your paper nautilus could have come from the depth you have listed.
