The only excellent dealer i ever encountered from Japan was Shingo Habu
of Wakayama, but i have had no contact since 2000.   For the most part,
Japanese shell collectors are a fairly "insular" bunch, in both the
metaphorical and literal sense, seldom purchasing from or marketing to
collectors outside the country.   Does anybody know approximately how
many "active, serious" Japanese collectors there actually are?  I've
heard conflicting reports on this topic.
