Hi to all Conch-ler's, I really doubt this to be the case as a good
northwest wind will really bring the shells onto the Sanibel beaches
especially around Blind Pass and northern end of Bowman's. Combine
a storm, northwest winds, and a nice low tide, and I have seen shell
piles 4 - 5 ft high. These are conditions most likely to ocurr in
the winter months and there have a number of northwest wind days
this season. This also accounts for the relatively bare beaches
this summer's COA as opposed to now. I was not fortunate enough
to have shelled Sanibel in the good old days but as I understand it
even a good northwest wind now doesn't bring any where near the
bounty of those days. I imangine there are many more factors
at work here than just the shelling ban.

I just received my Dec issue of AC and once again many compliments
to all and especially Lynn for anohter superb issue.

Best to all for Happy, Healthy, Hoidays and New Year!!
