The Macsotay book on Venezuelan shells lists pugilis nicaraguensis as
being from Margarita Is area. Mainly he says the last whorl has a
smooth shoulder and it's smaller than most pugilis.

I have seen gobs of these both on Margarita Island and the Paraguana
Peninsula (Amuay area). They are smaller than those in Belize,
Honduras, etc, though that might be because they are fished extensively
for food and smaller ones are becoming mature earlier. Most of them
don't have spines on the last 3/4 whorl, though some do. I don't know
the original description of nicaraguensis, but if those are the
characteristics, I guess the Venezuelan material is nicaraguensis.
