All who responded online and off,
Thanks very much for the tips.
My home internet connection is currently a bit slow so I can't do a very
good job of checking out every link (and every portal's link!) offered.
I can comment though, that the Academy of Natural Sciences, Philadelphia
website that Harry alerted me to is amazing!
(http://pick4.pick.uga.edu/mp/20q?guide=Molluscs) Thank you Gary Rosenberg!
It has sophisticated features that sure look interesting. (And useful when I
have a Jamaican snail query!)
It contains information at a greater depth than I have seen elsewhere. No
doubt it was hugely time-consuming and exacting to create and we will be
waiting a long time to see this depth of information for other faunas. But
nevertheless it gives a yardstick to aim for, and thank you, Academy of
Natural Sciences, Philadelphia.
