Dear Stromb Fanciers:
The late and dearly missed Dr. R. Tucker Abbott, like the description in
one edition of the Bible says "of most pleasant memory" once related to
me that when he was a student of Bill Clench, he and fellow graduate
students argued with Clench that indeed, as Bob Lipe said below, samba
was just an ancient gigas.  Tucker related (and my memory fades on this)
that a seaplane hit a rock while trying to (takeoff/land) and the rock
(in the shallow water) turned out to be the type of samba. . .
