This is a cross-posting from Ron Shimek on the mollusca list. Elsie was known and loved by many of us in the Pacific Northwest. We'll miss her greatly.
 
" Early this evening, May 19, Elsie Marshall, a founding member of the
Pacific Northwest Shell Club, died very peacefully while surrounded by her
husband and her family.
       A memorial service will be held for her at 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, May
25,
1999 at Bethel Lutheran Church, NE 175th Street and 8th Avenue Northeast,
