Betty and I new Tucker for quite a few years.  He was always easy to
talk to and never talked down to anyone.  I put a display in the St.
Petersburg Shell Show in 1969 and won the Smithsonian Award which it was
called at that time.  Now it's named the National Museum of Natural
History award.  Anyway Dr. R. Tucker Abbott was one of the Judges of
that show, and he did like pictures of living Mollusk.  He was a fun
loving guy.  Many of my pictures were used in his books and he helped me
get them in others.  He passed away the same day that our grandson was
born, Nov. 3, 1995.  I hope our grandson gets some of his smarts.
