My favorite example of fossil-related kitsch is in the Fick Museum at
Oakley, Kansas (USA). The museum includes a (rather good) portrait of
George Washington done in Cretaceous shark teeth, and a slab of rare
Cretaceous crinoids that has been painted to "restore" the colors of the
sea lilies. Ugh!! Other exhibits include an entire sod house with tools and
so on. Highly recommended!
