Changes to Regents Scholarship Eligibility Criteria
The Board of Regents has changed the criteria for eligibility to apply for
the Regents Study Abroad Scholarship. For the coming deadline date of Feb.
28, which covers programs for summer 2003, fall 2003 and AY 2002-2003, only
undergraduates are now eligible to apply. In addition, students may not
have any more than 48 hours prior travel experience outside the U.S.

Study Abroad Program Representative Visit
Ms. Marlo Goldstein of AmeriSpan Unlimited will be on campus on Wednesday,
February 26th from 4:00-5:00 pm in Tate 143. AmeriSpan offers academic
summer and semester programs and volunteer/internships programs in Latin
America and Europe. There are also special programs for business, health

Scholarships for Study Abroad
Applications for the SCOG scholarship for study abroad in Summer 2003, Fall
2003, AY 2003-2004 or Spring 2004 are now available. To be eligible, you
must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident who has never studied before
for academic credit. You also must have a 3.6 or above cumulative GPA and a
strong record of extra-curricular or service activities. The scholarship
deadline is March 3, 2003. More information and applications are available

The Association of Teachers of Japanese (ATJ) Bridging Scholarship program
offers scholarships ranging from $2,500 to $4,000 to undergraduate American
students participating in study-abroad programs in Japan that begin in fall
2003. The deadline for applications is April 3, 2003. Selection will be
based on academic potential and financial need. In addition, Morgan Stanley
will award two $7,500 scholarships to undergraduate students who will be
studying abroad in Japan during the 2003-2004 academic year and who have an
interest in economics and international finance. Information on the

The Institute for Shipboard Education's Semester at Sea program offers
scholarships for students attending their program. Scholarship application
deadline dates are as follows: for Summer 2003: March 7, 2003; for Fall
2003: April 15, 2003; for Spring 2004: August 1, 2003. See

SIT Study Abroad is offering a competitive, merit award to undergraduate
students with a background and demonstrated interest in Asian Studies
