The Georgia Department of Natural Resources will hold a National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP) teacher workshop May 16 in Savannah at Bethesda Day School from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Ag and P.E. teachers 4th-12th grade are invited to attend if interested in learning about the NASP and teaching an archery unit in school. The NASP is an in-school program being taught in more than 9,000 schools nationwide, focused on teaching target archery, concentration, self-discipline and a new life skill to students.
Schools that have two or more teachers certified at a NASP workshop qualify for a $1,500 grant that covers more than half the cost of a school archery set.
