The Georgia Department of Natural Resources will be conducting a National Archery in the Schools Program workshop Monday, Dec. 3 at Funston Elementary in Colquitt County, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. If you are a teacher interested in attending, please contact Matt Stewart at 229.430.1847 or e-mail [log in to unmask] for registration information.
The National Archery in the Schools Program is a national in-school unit for Ag Ed and P.E. classes, taught in more than 10,000 schools in 47 states. Schools that send two or more teachers to a NASP workshop (at least one P.E. or Ag teacher) qualify for a $1,500 equipment grant to purchase archery supplies. Many schools form archery teams after teaching the unit in school and compete in regional, state and national tournaments.
