Hello Dr. Cadisch and others interested in sugarcane modeling :

The sugarcane model is being developed by Dr. Inman-Bamber from South
Africa, in collaboration with Greg Kiker, Jim Jones from Florida and myself.
The University of Hawaii and the Chiang Mai University in Thailand are
interested in testing and applying the model for their local conditions.
The current version of the sugarcane model has a water balance only. Work
is underway to get the nitrogen balance working. The system basically uses
the same soil water and nitrogen balance of the CROPGRO and CERES models.
One the N component works, you should be able to study organic matter and
residue issues.

We currently have an in-house version available not really ready for release
yet.

Regards,
