The current "Pacific Conchological Club" is the oldest continuously meeting shell club in the US.  It was founded in May of 1902 as "The Tuesday Shell Club" as it met monthly on Tuesdays.  The club was know by several other names including the "Conchological Study Club of Southern California," the "Conchological Club of Los Angeles" and the "Conchological Club of the Southwest Museum" before becoming the "Conchological Club of Southern California" in 1925.  The CCSC merged with the "Pacific She'll Club" in 2005 and became the "Pacific Conchological Club" with the current name reflecting the long heritage of the two parent clubs.  The May meeting marked 114 years of longevity ... not bad!  Questions?  Let me know.

Can anyone tell me:

- The year the Miami Shell Club (now Broward Shell Club) was founded?
- The oldest shell club in the USA, and the year of its founding (even if it's now defunct)?
