I never measured a Trochidae. At the moment we are measuring some
landshells, we are measing now 5 to 6 subspecies
of Chilostoma cingulatum cingulatum (Studer, 1820) to see all morphological
variations in the different subspecies and to
make later a paper on it.
We are going to measure the following subspecies
Chilostoma cingulatum peregrini n. nom Falkner, 1998
Chilostoma cingulatum baldense (Rossmaessler, 1839)
Chilostoma cingulatum preslii (Rossmaessler, 1836)
Chilostoma cingulatum colubrina (Cristofori et Jan, 1832)
Chilostoma cingulatum gobanzi (Frauenfeld, 1867)
Chilostoma cingulatum tigrinum (Cristofori et Jan, 1832)
Chilostoma cingulatum medoacense (Adami, 1886)
We are measuring the width of the shell, its length (what should be the
same as the height), we are measuring
the width and length of the aperature, we are looking for the numbers of
whorls and the color of the shell.
We are measuring 30 specimens / species to have a nice overview on the
morphological differences of these
subspecies. But we don't have a title at the moment, but it could be.
The morphological variations in subspecies of Chilostoma cingulatum
(Studer, 1820) (Stylommatophora, Helicidae)
Please if anybody has an idea for a tile please tell me.
with best shelling greetings
Helmut
