The first Olivella I saw swim was Olivella adelae. Since then I have
seen quite a few species swim. A couple in Granada, one in Santo
Domingo. The ones in Santo Domingo swam so fast that they would swim
out of my hand dredge before I could stop them. I finally figured it
out after I got my mask on and watched them swim away as I was trying to
screen them. If you want to see an Olivella swim, just put them in a
plastic bag with some water of course and shake the bag. I have them on
video from Granada. I imagine all Olivellas can swim with their
mantles.
