Folks --
A few weeks back, I posted a rather large letter detailing my ongoing (and
increasingly desparate) search for pinnotherid crab specimens. Many, many
thanks to all of you who volunteered to help.
In posting that list, I provided a list of species that are hosts for
various pinnotherids, and I'm beginning to wokder if the host species
names have changed. In particular, I can't find any reference at all to
the bivalve genus Byssomia. Do any of you know the genus, and are there
photographs somewhere online that I might view? There are supposed to be
pinnotherid crabs living in Byssomia in my area, but I don't know what the
host bivalve looks like, which is making my search harder...
I'm also looking for online photos of Saxicava species and particulalrly
large tellin species. A couple of weeks ago, someone posted a link to an
online directory, but I've lost the email...can you help me?
Again, thanks to all of you for your help!
Happy holidays!
Greg
