That's why you need pictures of shells on the shower curtains, even if the buccinid is sinistral and labeled as Linne's Baby Bubble.
The author and date go in parenthesis if the genus is changed, but not if they are made a subspecies of something else in the same genus.
Subspecies can be elevated to species based on the taxonomic judgement of the individual. The ICZN does not deal with this sort of thing; it only tells you whether the name is available and you have to assign the rank.
