Here is a list of Cyphoma species, with my thoughts on synonymy:
Cyphoma alleneae Cate, 1973: synonym of Cyphoma gibbosum (just a minor
variant in mantle pattern).
Cyphoma aureocinctum (Dall, 1889): Florida and Cuba; rarest member of the
genus.
Cyphoma bartschi Cate, 1973: named as a Phenocovolva, but appears to be a
Cyphoma.
Cyphoma christahemmenae (Fehse, 1997): Named as Pseudocyphoma; I have not
seen the original descriptions, but specimens purchased from dealers appear
to be Cyphoma intermedium.
Cyphoma emarginatum (Sowerby I, 1830)
Cyphoma gibbosum (Linnaeus, 1758) Caribbean: "gibbosum" not "gibbosa"
because Cyphoma is neuter.
Cyphoma gibsonsmithorum (Petuch, 1987): named as a Pseudocyphoma.
Cyphoma intermedium (Sowerby I, 1828): sometimes placed in Pseudocyphoma,
but I don't see a need for a different genus.
Cyphoma lindae Petuch, 1987: West Florida; not be confused with
Phenacovolva lindae Petuch, 1987 from Colombia.
Cyphoma macumba Petuch, 1979: a broad variant of Cyphoma signatum.
Cyphoma mcgintyi Pilsbry, 1939: sometimes misspelled "macgintyi".
Cyphoma rhomba Cate, 1978: probably a synonym of Cyphoma mcgintyi.
Cyphoma seccato "Sowerby": no such species; what you get from dealers is a
small Cyphoma intermedium.
Cyphoma sedlaki Cate, 1976: probably a synonym of Cyphoma mcgintyi.
Cyphoma signatum Pilsbry & McGinty, 1939.
