Dear Listers,
I am trying to locate a reference for the following taxon:
"Oocorys japonica (Kuroda and Teramachi, 1952)", not (Azuma, 1960), not
(Matsumoto, 1979).
Unfortunately, I found that most internet databases copied from each
other and none is able to give me a reference for this taxon. The Toba
aquarium claims to have a picture of the holotype:
http://www.aquarium.co.jp/shell/gallery/hyouzi.php?nakama=toukamuri
If that image is correct, it would clearly place O. japonica in the
(long) list of synonyms of O. verrilli (Dall, 1889). Maybe somebody
with a copy of Kuroda's bibliography
"Hanshin Shell Club,1986. Bibliography of Dr. Tokubei Kuroda.
Nishinomiya, Hanshin Shell Club, 102 pp., 33 pls. [In Japanese.]"
at hand could doublecheck if there is such a publication and let me know
the details?
Thanks very much and best regards,
Tilo
