I found a poorly preserved, high spired pleurocerid(?) in the Susquehanna
at Wormleysburg, Pennsylvania.
It is about 28 mm by 11mm, 7 whorls, but the protoconch and lip are
broken off, and most of the shell surface is eroded away. It is a
greenish brown color, worn off at the top and bottom of the body whorl
which protrude from the otherwise smooth, flat whorled shell. I could
find no pleurocerid shells from that river listed in Burch, and nothing
that seemed to be a good fit. Anybody have any ideas?
Thanks,
Allen Aigen
