P.S. - Another use of the same prefix in the shell world is Conus
stercusmuscarum and Cerithium stercusmuscarum.  Both these species
are marked with tiny dark dots, and the name indicates that the dots
look like the excrement (stercus) of flies (muscarum, from the Latin
musca - fly).
