James,

Mustang Island is an island off the coast of Corpus Christi, Texas on which
Port Aransas is situated.  Laguna Madre causeway does indeed exist, and is
the causeway which connect the Texas mainland down near Brownsville with
South Padre Island.  This causeway was damaged in a boat or barge accident
last year.
