Speaking of micros does anyone know what the teensy Epitonium from the
Philippines is, that comes up with the TRUE deep-water micro-material??
It looks just like a miniature E. scalare, but is all of 3mm long, with
about 7 whorls.
Regarding micros in general, they are IMMENSE fun: i once extracted 450
species from a couple of handfulls of extra-rich material from the
central Philippines, including 85 species of Tiny Turridae. A 10X
magnifier is quite sufficient for almost anything one is likely to come
across, although for protoconchs, 15X is admittedly better.
Still enjoying winter in the Great White North,
ross.
