It is worth noting that the Smithsonian Libraries has digitized the entire
edition of the "Biologia Centrali-Americana," an invaluable resource to the
nonmarine fauna of Central America. Eduard von Martens (1890-1901) prepared the
lengthy volume on the nonmarine mollusks. This publication is now online at:

Other publications available through this website include the "U.S. Exploring
Expedition" (mollusks by A.A. Gould).
