Hi, Everyone!
I have been working with Korean Rissoidae and
Lucinidae, and have encountered some
problems. Hopefully, someone on the list can
help me.
1. Are Epicodakia delicatula (Pilsbry, 1904)
and Myrtea (Myrtea) delicatula A. Adams, 1862
(Lucinidae) different species? The few
illustrations and scanty descriptions I have
show them to be almost identical.
2. Are Alvania pura Gould, 1861 and Rissoina
(Phosinella) pura (Gould, 1861) (Rissoidae)
synonyms?
3. Also in the Lucinidae, what diagnostic
features separate Pillucina pisidium (Dunker,
1860) and Wallucina striata (Tokunaga, 1906)?
I have looked at dozens of specimens of what
appears to be P. pisidium, but I am not sure.
Any light that can be cast on any, or all, of
these matters would be much appreciated.
Malacologically yours,
Ron Noseworthy
