I can't say I have ever seen a sea monster before, but one night while
shelling on Perdido Key, Alabama (Florida also owns part of this island) I
heard a groan, roar, growl or something from the water just off shore. By the
nature of the noise, I expected to see some large creature. I saw nothing,
but let me tell you that I knew I did not want to meet whatever created that
noise. I am usually rather fearless about things, but that night I packed up
immediately and went home.
