Dear RoseSea and Paul,
  I too checked several chemical reference works and could not find a
listing for "rosalic acid".  In addition to Paul's comments regarding
rosolic acid being an indicator it is also poorly soluble in water so I
don't think it is the chemical that Rose is talking about.
