I picked up a nice Eocene fossil specimen at a Gem and Mineral Show yesterday, both valves whole with matrix inside it.  It's labeled Mercenaria menaria from Madagascar, a lovely, elongated bivalve but with no author or date listed.  I have no sources on Madagascar, Eocene or otherwise.  Does anyone know the author and date?  Any other info?
