P.S.

There is a reference to Cepaea in "The Best of the Nautilus."   Someone planted a good deal of them at Principia College, which is somewhere in the Greater St. Louis area - perhaps on the Illinois side.

But, Frieda Schilling and Hess Kemper (both deceased I think - Frieda excuse me if you are still around)  stated that they searched, probably in the 60's or so, and they could find none.
