OK, to turn this coin discussion back to shells, has anyone ever gathered,
saved, "stolen" coins to buy shells? I remember when I was 14 as a young
beginning collector scraping together enough coins to place my first order for
shells from the late Kirk Anders. It was indeed Christmas in August when the
package arrived; my first Pleuroploca gigantea collected by Kirk Anders
himself. Now nearly 25 years later I still treasure that shell not for what
it is, but because of its legacy and my memories from so may years ago.
