This brings up the question: would an unpigmented mollusc animal
actually be white? Might not the flesh have color(s) unrelated to pigmentation?
also: could there be two pigmentation systems in some or most molluscs
- one for shell, one for body? Then, the shell could be albino,
without the body being likewise!!
