A question to those of you knowledgeable in the family Muricidae.
Unfortunately I am sadly lacking on the most current books and/or papers
regarding this most confusing family. The shell is Marchia laqueata (Sowerby,
1841) according to Radwin & D'Attilio; Pterynotus laqueatus according to
Abbott (Compendium of Seashells); have also seen it Pterynotus (Pterymarchia)
laqueatus. I also have a paper in which Dr. Emily Vokes places this shell
in the family Chicoreus... Chicoreus (Chicopinnatus) laqueatus.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. You can respond privately if you would
prefer.

Thanks in advance
