Certain among you will remember Ms. Rachel Patton. Rachel was
secretary for the District III Office of Ag. Ed. for several years
working with Roy Powell, myself and a host of area teachers and ag.
teachers. Her husband Tommy passed away earlier today. The
announcement is attached as follows. Some of you may have worked with
their son Brian Patton, Member Service Representative with Jackson
EMC. Tommy and Rachael are great people and we all feel for their
loss. Please keep Rachael and the family in your thoughts and prayers.

Obituary:

Thomas “Tom” Watson Patton, 80, died February 2, 2012.

A native of Greene County, he was a son of the late Walter J. and Era
Mae Wright Patton and was the last of thirteen children. Mr. Patton
was a veteran of the United States Army and retired from the Navy
Supply Corps School. He was a member at East Athens Baptist Church,
where he was a former chairman of the deacons, Sunday School teacher
and was active in various committees there over the years.

Funeral services will be Saturday, February 4, 2012 at 11:00 AM at
East Athens Baptist Church with Revs. Don Leaptrott and Ray Wuerzer
officiating. Interment will be in Oconee Hill Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Rachael Bond Patton; children, Gregory
Thomas (Angela) Patton of Crawford and Brain Russell Patton of Hull;
two grandchildren, Allison Patton and Ansley Patton; many nieces and
nephews.

Waymon Kelly’s Sunday School Class will serve as honorary pallbearers.

The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at the
funeral home.

Flowers are optional. Memorials may be made to the East Athens Baptist
Church Senior’s Fund or the Building Fund.

Lord and Stephens, EAST, is in charge of arrangements.
