Two species common at Sanibel that could fit - immature Mercenaria forms,
and Chione intapurpurea. The Chione would have radial threads. Some of our
quahogs are quite colorful, with brown blotches, chevrons, even all brown.
 
Hey bivalvia folks, are we still using M. mercenaria and M. campechiensis
to pigeonhole our West Florida species?
