After all these years this subject still come up from time to time, but it seems the rules are still
not followed by some members.

Conch-L is a place to discuss about shells, and not to sell shells. As Linda has made clear anyone
breaking the group rules should be warned and finally punished if these rules are repeatedly broken.

Being a dealer myself I understand this is not the right place to make any kind of advertisement,
anyone interested on buying shells have excellent tools in Internet. SPAMS are very annoying, we
already receive so many by e-mail and these messages are probably ignored by all collectors anyway.
If you are a new dealer try to find other places to make yourself known to collectors as magazines
or other websites.

For years this group have been helpful to most of us, we must prevent harsh attitudes toward those
who help with their inputs. Dick Petit has sent a message which was misunderstood by a dealer and
got an angry response. I read his message and did not see any attack to dealers, on the contrary. He
is a good friend and have helped us in several occasions to identify Cancellariidae. I am sure his
opinion is highly appreciated by all of us and should not take this episode as a reason to leave the
group.

Marcus
