Dr. Parodiz was Scientific (as I recall) Advisor to the Pittsburgh Shell
Club (now defunct, unfortunately) in the mid-late sixties and early
seventies.  He and his wife Esther were present at every monthly
meeting.  He gave programs, helped ID shells, and supported and was
involved in all club activities. "Jose" as everybody called him, was
extremely knowledgeable and gracious.  I  have very fond memories indeed
and am saddened by the news.
