Commercial "Goo Remover" will do the trick, as will the old standby, WD-40.
Just spray on, let sit for a minute and wipe off.

Subject: [CONCH-L] Removing old label gum

I know this has probably been asked but I will do so again:
I have an old shell that at some point had a label on it which was removed
now
there is a sticky residue (that collects dust & looks awful). What
is the best way to remove it?

Thanks Ellen
