A unit like that would be very nice to have when coming across
a shell that is just color or nominal different from another.
Might be a local environment that alters it.

Might be nice to have a mass spec option.  Tells you it is laced
with DDT or phosphate making it have a distorted shell or color.

Brave new world!  Next need item for a ship cruse....

Big question - shell only ?  Plants, and other groups could
use it if adaptable.
