Yes I have seen it many time here on Texas Beaches.
... then you come back next week and there are the other valves.
It appears to corrolate to the prevailing winds being from a different
direction.

Folks,
I'm sure conchlers know all about this, but: the other day I was walking
on Bowman's Beach at the outer end of Sanibel Island, picking up shells
(we're running out here at the Academy). There were thousands of the big
Dinocardium vanhyningi everywhere, but try as I might I could not find
one single solitary left valve. I've heard about hydrodynamic sorting of
empty shells before, but this was my first encounter with it in such
numbers. Has anyone else come across this?
